The rain mainly falls on the plain in Spain, but sometimes if snows in Tahoe, like 25 feet so far!

Skiers and snowboarders couldn't have asked for more this Winter from Mother Nature and with the massive holiday crowds and kids back in school, now is the best time to hit the slopes.
We took the total snow falls from our favorite resorts (Kirkwood, Heavenly, Sugar Bowl, Alpine Meadows and Squaw) and averaged them out 25 feet of total snowfall. Add the freezing temperatures that kicked in over the last 72 hours and you've got it as good as it gets.
Our first story of 2011 will feature all the info you'll need to make the most of your next trip up the hill. And for locals in Sactown, Sacvibe's man-behind-the-man here, has been getting his skis tuned and fixed since 1984 from Land Park Ski next to City College on Freeport. Yeah, we're hyping "Old Man Bill" because his staff does it right and has the super chill, no pressure sales team and pro techs. No, he didn't pay us to say this, but yes, he tuned all our gear this year, again! Thanks to Rachel Woods over at Alpine Meadows for getting this fresh photo to us on deadline.
There's a new kid in town and her name is District 30. With direct blood lines to San Francisco's most fabulous club, Ruby Skye, it should be a nice addition to a city that seems to be bursting with night life, and help to round out the K Street corridor.
The developers put together a ménage à trois of sorts combining three venues; District 30 slated as a "dance lounge for the socially sophisticated." Dive Bar with a 40 foot wide, 7,500 gallon human aquarium and a pizza joint called Pizza Rock.
January 13 is their 'sneak peek' featuring Steve Aoki and then the grand opening will be kicked off by one of this website's favorite house djs/producers, Sasha.
Of course, the main attraction will be the music and if you're into house, we expcet this venue to bring some real flavor back into the loval scene. The website for the venue goes into length about the new sound system:
The QX speaker system is a break through in the real sense of the word. It is the best example anywhere of a tri-axyl speaker in which three separate driver groups for highs, mids and lows all emerge from the speaker as one point source, on the same axis. In QX, four 500 watt 12" low frequency divers are arrayed around the 4 sides of diamond shaped speaker, that has dual concentric high and mod drivers sharing the same large format horn. The result is unappalled sound density, a 140 decibel speaker that is only 28" wide and 28" tall. There are four QX speakers surrounding the dance floor of District 30. That's easy math: 16 - 500 watt low frequency drivers delivering chest thumping bass for a total of 8000 watts. This is further supported by two 2000 watt EAW SB528's which will supply super deep bass.
